Sharon Hughto finds joy in putting paint to canvas. This joy is the essence of her art. It shines right through in her work.
After discovering her talent for portraying landscapes and for creating art that incorporates her unique sense of images that surround her, Sharon launched Boathouse Studio located in Dexter, New York, where many of her paintings can be viewed.
Friendly and outgoing, Sharon loves to talk about her painting process. After trying oils and experimenting with other media, Sharon now works exclusively in acrylics. She finds acrylics to be more engaging, as they provide her the opportunities to paint with texture and vividness.
In addition to this website and Boathouse Studio, Sharon shows work at Arts on the Square gallery in Watertown, New York, and at venues in Syracuse and Rochester, as well as New York City. Soon her works will be shown in Austin, Texas. Seasonally she shows work at Thousand Islands Art Center in Clayton, New York.
